London is one of the world’s top tourist destinations. Like many major cities, it can be hard to find a truly original restaurant. If you like trying something a little different, here are five restaurants that capture London’s special and creative atmosphere. Dans Le Noir In this restaurant you eat your entire dinner in the dark. This might sound like a bad joke, but Dans Le Noir (French for: in the dark) is enjoying success with this pretty strange idea. Book a table here and you’ll be served dinner in a room without even the smallest scrap of light. This allows guests to experience the “true” taste of food. Don’t worry about spilling food or stabbing yourself with a fork. There are specially trained “guides” to assist you. Bustronome This French-style restaurant is London’s fine-dining experience on a double-decker bus offering sensational panoramic views while you are taken round on a tour of the city’s most famous landmarks. The kitchen takes up the lower deck and the seating upstairs is elegant and surprisingly romantic. The food is quite pricey but the novelty of eating on a bus that moves around the city seems to be proving a big hit. Inamo This Asian restaurant is a place for computer geeks. There are no staff taking your orders since all your food is ordered through an interactive computer system. The menu is projected from the ceiling right onto your table and sensors allow you to navigate as if using a touchscreen. You can also play computer games in between courses, surf the internet or order yourself a taxi home. Lost Boys Pizza The world’s only vampire-themed pizzeria, this restaurant is a must-visit for fans of odd pizza toppings and a touch of the undead – but the pizza here means business. Every one comes with a delightfully funny name and is served on the restaurant’s custom-designed china plates. The venue features large, neon-lit windows while the interiors are in rich blues and with a fancy brass bar top. Certainly a place you should not miss. The Fire Station The Fire Station is a restaurant housed in a real fire station as the name says. It is out of use nowadays but the beautiful old industrial building still has many of its original features. The dining area is located on the ground floor where the former garage of the fire engines used to be. The result is a trendy restaurant in one of the most unusual and atmospheric buildings in town.
