This is why being 16 is so great for many teenagers. 2 Being 16 is a great time for many teenagers. They are more independent, make their own decisions, set their own goals, and in some countries even start driving a car. This newfound independence allows them to enjoy a certain degree of freedom because they have learned to take responsibility for their actions. For this reason being 16 is a fantastic time in a young person’s life. 3 Being 16 is a great time for many teenagers. It gives them more freedom and their parents no longer feel the need to tell them what to do and who to see. For instance, they can set their own goals and seriously start thinking about their future. Do they want to take up a job right after they leave school, or do they want to go on to university?
