First you will have 45 seconds to study the task below, then you will hear the recording twice. While listening, match the speakers with their statements (A–J). There are two extra statements that you should not use. Write your answers in the boxes provided. The first one (0) has been done for you. After the second listening, you will have 45 seconds to check your answers. 5 74i7r8 18 As you read the rubric and the statements, predict some words/phrases you might hear the speakers using. Be aware of the wording of the statements, e.g. do any statements express negative ideas or negative verbs? As you listen to the recording, listen for words/phrases/ideas that are repeated by all speakers. Are any of these ‘word spots’ which have been put in to distract from the correct answer? Check your answers the second time you listen.
