First you will have 45 seconds to study the task below, then you will hear the recording twice. While listening, match the speakers with their statements (A–J). There are two extra statements that you should not use. Write your answers in the boxes provided. The first one (0) has been done for you. After the second listening, you will have 45 seconds to check your answers. 7 2ik3g7 10 Look at the rubric, and the heading if there is one, to see what the task will be about. Predict some words you might hear the speaker or speakers using. Use your preparation time well by reading the statements in the task and thinking of some expressions you could use to paraphrase the information in the statement. While you’re listening, watch out for words like but, however and though. These words are often used in sentences that are distractors, so listen carefully to make sure you heard correctly.
