Writing: Ambivalent inventions In your favourite newspaper you have read a list of innovations that changed the world. The list contained all the developments, inventions and discoveries mentioned on these two pages. As a young person you are worried about certain scientific developments which might affect you and your family. Therefore you have decided to write an essay which you would like to hand in to the students’ page of your favourite newspaper for publication. In your essay you should: • analyse the relevance of some of these inventions and discoveries for their time and for today • explain your worries • suggest measures and strategies to deal with the situation Give your essay a title .
