A shopping spree doesn’t have to involve visiting shops! British markets are really popular and they can sometimes be found in surprising places. One of them is Piccadilly Market at St. James Church in central London. Linda is browsing through a photo grapher’s stall. One of the photos is not mentioned in the text. Which one? Circle it. Write the names of the sights under each picture. Tower Bridge Houses of Parliament with Big Ben Piccadilly Circus Linda: Hi there! I like this photo of the London Eye! Stallholder: Thanks. That’s my most popular image. And this is a London bus going round Piccadilly Circus with the old Underground sign. Very iconic! I also have got photos of the Gerkin, the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben and of course the Shard. Linda: Wow, they’re so beautiful. Oh, what is this one called? I have seen it. It looks a bit like a mobile phone! Stallholder: It’s called Walkie Talkie! And you are right – it sure looks like a mobile phone. Linda: I can’t decide which one I like the most. Oh, there’s one of Tower Bridge. That’s just awesome! I think I’ll take that one. Stallholder: Good choice! They’re all one of a kind. Linda: So cool! This market is a very unique one. It’s very different to the hustle and bustle of London. Stallholder: Yes. There are only about 35 stalls here. It’s a very friendly market. Not many people know about it – it’s a hidden gem! And there are lots of stalls where you can only buy the product here, they’re not available anywhere else in London, so that makes it very unusual!
