If Angelique had not been a singer at her young age, she would not have been bullied by other children in the streets of Benin.    She was not bullied as a child.    Other children attacked her because she had made her name as a singer. 2. If Angelique had not had her friends who supported her, she would never have felt the power of solidarity.    Angelique would have experienced female solidarity anyway.    Angelique’s friends gave her comfort and supported her. 7. Her father told her that if she got into a fight with one of the boys to defend her pride, this would not solve the underlying problem.    Defending her pride warranted a fight with boys.    She was discouraged by her father from fighting against boys. 8. If Angelique had not experienced all these things in her childhood, she would not have the strength to fight for women’s rights now as an ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund.    She has experienced women’s rights through her work for UNICEF.    Today she is a strong woman fighting for social causes. 9.
