People take their mobile phones and take selfies of themselves. They wear headphones and listen to music at the same time. Taking selfies and listening to music on a mobile device or picking up the phone while driving can be very dangerous. People often forget about obstacles, people and the traffic around them. We all have experienced this. Distraction by mobile devices is a major problem nowadays. It is not only the people who do it that are at risk. Everybody around them could be harmed. How can this be prevented? People must be convinced that it does not make sense to stay online or play around with mobile devices. They do not pay attention to the world around them. Most people will be reasonable enough to take this to heart. An option is to fine people who are caught when they break these safety rules. Such measures are not very effective. Many people might think that breaking the rules is something they are entitled to do as long as nobody is watching.
