2 10 Preparing the content 2.3 Mind maps/Word webs Mind maps/Word webs show a situation, a problem, a group of people, a group of words, etc. in a graphical way. Lines are used to link items. Usually there are superordinate items (often also called umbrella terms) and subor- dinate items. When you are planning a text, mind maps and word webs can help you to organise your thoughts.
