21 Preparing for the Matura Are you going to take the English Matura exams? Then it’s time to start practising exam tasks on your own as well. Here are some tips to get you started: STRATEGIES 33 a 1 Set a little time aside every week to work with past exam papers. Download some past exam papers from the internet. Ask your teacher where to find them if necessary. Do a task or two, noting down your answers on a separate sheet of paper. Check your answers with the key. Make a special note of any unknown vocabulary that prevented you from getting an answer correct. Over the next week, revise with your notes and attempt the same task again if it was challenging, or a new one if you got most answers correct. 2 Study using exam preparation materials. Work through the exam preparation materials at the back of this book or get additional help from the way2go! Maturatraining. Pair up with a friend to practise some speaking tasks. It’s more fun, and you can give each other feedback. Bring practice material you’ve worked on to class and discuss how you’ve used it to improve. b Looking back: Learning goals of Unit 01 !!
