The ‘Break Up’ ad – just loving it! How do they do it? Doesn’t Coca-Cola always have such catchy ads? I’m forever waiting to see what they come up with next.  The best one is the ‘Break Up’ ad, which tells the story of a young couple who meet in a record store and fall in love over a bottle of Coke. The ad fast forwards 7 through their romantic moments and there’s always an ice-cold Coke in there somewhere. They fight and break up, but in the end, he offers her his Coke. She’s going to wipe the top of the bottle with her shirt but decides not to – then he knows the romance is back on!  You know what makes the ad so powerful? It’s fast-paced and has this song called Made for You . So romantic, so compelling! And I just love the imagery – a bottle of Coke smashes when their relationship breaks, and a water drop slides down the bottle like a tear down a face. I’m telling you, it’s just out of this world. And, of course, the characters are impossibly good- looking. I imagine that this ad speaks to a young audience. They’ll enjoy the fast-moving action and identify with the situations. It aims to make young people feel emotional as they share the rollercoaster of feelings experienced by the couple. Coca-Cola always picks memorable songs which help the audience to remember the ad, and this one is no different.  So, why don’t you give yourself a romantic moment and check it out? You won’t regret it. 7  to fast forward: vorspulen Nur zu Prüfzwecken – Eigentum des Verlags öbv
