SPEAKING + WRITING 16 a b  7  string rain: Schnürlregen I think I’m the biggest Sound of Music fan ever! I love all the songs and must have seen the film some more than 30 times. It was a dream come so true when I took a trip to Salzburg last summer. The first thing I did was book a Sound of Music bus tour wanted to see all the famous places from the film. Sadly, only it was raining very heavily. The tour guide told to us that it’s called ‘string rain 7 ’ as it comes straight down, but then the sun came on out and the scenery was fantastic! I was embarrassed when some near local people heard me singing one of the songs, Edelweiss , really loudly. They didn’t look very all that happy, but I suppose they get tired of the buses full of tourists crowding into the city most all the time. The best bit was that they played up the music from the film on the bus as we were driving along and everyone was singing along and laughing like crazy. We took down some great pictures in Mirabell Gardens and danced around the fountain like being the kids in the film. It was a really total unforgettable experience and I met a lot of fun people from other countries.
