It was reported that all 162 passengers and crew on board the Boeing plane miraculously escaped, and no serious injuries were caused following the incident. Authorities have not yet worked out what led the airplane to veer off the runway shortly after landing. Panicked passengers were evacuated from the aircraft early on Sunday after emergency services and fire crews were called to the scene. One passenger told the media they stayed inside the plane “for at least 20 minutes” waiting for help to arrive. “There was a smell of fuel inside, so we all thought the plane would explode, but thankfully it did not happen,” she said. Another passenger said, “The plane had been tipped to the side, and the back was up. There was panic and people were shouting and screaming, some of them in tears.” Another passenger said it was a miracle that they survived the ordeal. “The plane could have caught fire and exploded. Thank God it didn’t.” It has been reported that a woman in Thailand had a lucky escape after taking an unexpect- ed swim when her bungee jump went badly wrong. According to witnesses, the distance between the bridge and the water was not measured properly before the woman was allowed to jump. The bungee rope was too long to work properly. A TV advert was being filmed with the womanwhen she jumped off the bridge. However, instead of bouncing back up after her jump, her head hit the water and she was almost completely submerged. In the video clip, the woman can be seen being pushed from the plat- form before dropping 15 metres and hitting the water head first. A shocking sight was waiting for the owner of a house in Manchester when she returned home to find a man hanging out of her bathroom window. The man had been trying to burgle the house but got his head wedged in the small window which had been left open by the owner. Police said he was lucky to survive getting stuck around five metres above the ground. The man was freed after the fire brigade was called. A prison sentence was given to the man at a court hearing. A police spokesman said, “It’s the first time we’ve seen this happen. Burglars have got stuck in windows before, but they usually manage to free themselves.” A photo of the man was shared by the police to serve as a warning to the public about burglars in the area. “People think that if no ladders are left lying around, burglars can’t get up. But such burglaries are common in this area, and money and jewellery are often stolen.” Nur zu Prüfzwecken – Eigentum des Verlags öbv
