Ally’s Blog Reading: Ally’s Blog a) Read Ally’s newest post on her blog. Summer is coming nearer and nearer and so is the question what to do with all the free time. I mean, of course we’ve already planned a family trip. We’re going to travel to Austria to visit the place where my mum spent her childhood. But apart from that I haven’t made any plans yet. Mum reminded me yesterday, “You’d better apply for a summer job soon. The internet is full of job offers. If you don’t start writing to companies, you’re not going to get a summer job you like”. Mum’s right of course, but I don’t have to tell her that, do I? All right, what could be a summer job I like? I think I won’t help on a farm this year and I won’t work in the animal shelter either. I’d like to work with people. It’s all over the internet that more and more jobs will be done by machines in the future. But I read that jobs where you take care of people will be quite safe from automation. So I’ve made a decision. I’m going to apply for a summer job in a retirement home.
