I’ve got some news for you: yesterday I visited an old Viking village in the south of Sweden. First, I wasn’t very happy about the idea of learning about the daily life of the Vikings. BUT: it was great! It was a beautiful day – the sun was shining and we had lots of fun. So, my parents, my sister and I went to this place called Foteviken near Malmö (check it out on the map above). It’s a huge open-air museum and you can see how the Viking people lived about 1000 years ago. Of course, the village is mostly reconstructed and there weren’t any “real” Vikings there. However, we dressed up as a Viking family and did many interesting things! We arrived at about 10 o’clock in the morning and then we started our tour around the village. First, we visited the village bakery. My sister baked bread, my mum cut wood and my dad made a fire with the tour guide. Meanwhile, I took some really nice photos l While my mum and I prepared the rest of our lunch, my sister and my dad went fishing. Just imagine, we cooked our own lunch like the Vikings did back then. Well, there were lots of other things we did, but now, we are going to visit Ales Stenar.
