A few days in Liverpool 5 20 25 30 10 15 Daniel from London went to Liverpool for a few days. This is his report for ‘Cool!’ magazine. Daniel’s top three Liverpool sights: On Friday I went on the visitors’ sightseeing tour – and I never want to hear the word ‘Beatles’ again! I know they’re famous, and some tourists go to Liverpool just for them, but I can’t tell a lie: they’re not my favourite band. THE FERRY ACROSS THE MERSEY Before I went to Liverpool I didn’t know that it was a port. You can see the water- front from the ferry across the Mersey. Lots of people use the ferry every day to go to work, so it’s cheap. It’s also a good place to meet people from Liverpool. We met some girls who told us a lot about the city – like where to eat or get the best music. THE WILLIAMSON TUNNELS This must be the strangest place in Liverpool! They’re under the normal streets. A rich man called Joseph Williamson built them in the 1820s, but nobody knows why. While we were there we met the girls from the Mersey ferry again. They showed us a vegetarian café with great food. ANFIELD Anfield is the home of Liverpool Football Club. Although I’m not really a football fan, the match on Saturday afternoon was fun. The crowd sang ‘You’ll never walk alone’ and everybody in our part of the stadium cheered wildly when Liverpool scored. But football is very expensive. The tickets cost £19 for children under 16 and £33 for adults. T Test practice C Nur zu Prüfzwecken – Eigentum des Verlags öbv
