What problems do you think they’ll talk about? p c) Talk about one of the teenagers with a partner. Before you listen , look at the photos and the title of the exercise. They can give you clues about what you will hear. While you listen , you should relax and take short notes. Remember that you will hear the text twice. Don’t worry if you don’t get the answers the first time. After you have listened , check that you have answered every question. If you really don’t know, guess the answer. Think back to what you heard. Do all your answers look OK? Remember: You often don’t need to understand every word. L ISTENING SKI LLS b) Look at the grid below. Then listen to the boy and the girl. Which answers are correct? Make notes in your exercise book. You don’t need to understand every word in this exercise! When you listen the first time, try to find the boy’s or the girl’s problem. The second time, listen for clues about the situation. T IP Imagine you heard one of the teenagers from a) on the bus. When you get home, you tell someone in your family (your partner) in German what the teenager talked about. Then exchange roles. Your partner tells you about the other teenager.
