A workshop Working with films 1 Important flm questions a) First choose a film together with your teacher. Then watch some scenes from the film and answer the questions: • Who are the people in the film? • Where are they? • What are they doing? • How do they feel? • What is the film about? 1. The plot is the story that the film tells. T IP b) Now work in groups. Watch another scene from the same film. Take notes and find out as much as you can about the characters, the setting, the action and the plot. Talk about your ideas in class and say what you think about the film. g 2 Let’s work with a flm a) Get another DVD or video to do this exercise. Play a scene from a film without sound. Take notes to answer these questions: • What can you see in the pictures? How many people are there? • What do you think they are saying? Play the scene with sound. Were you right? Talk about your answers. b) Play only the sound of another scene. What is happening? What are the people doing? Take notes, then watch the film with sound and pictures and talk about your answers. c) Play part of a scene and then stop it.
